Tennessee CDL Practice Test - General Knowledge. The CDL general knowledge test is required for all CDL applicants in Tennessee. This Tennessee CDL General Knowledge Practice Test 5 contains 50 questions, and you must answer at least 40 correctly to pass with a score of 80%. The general knowledge test covers the Tennessee CDL Manual. All CDL applicants in Class A, B, and C must study Driving Safely, Transporting Cargo Safely, Vehicle Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and the Road Test. Applicants who plan to operate vehicles equipped with air brakes must also study Air Brakes, and Class A applicants must also prepare for Combination Vehicles. Take this Tennessee CDL practice test now to prepare for the actual general knowledge exam. To earn your CDL, you must pass both the knowledge and skills tests. CDL knowledge tests may include General Knowledge, Passenger Transport, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, Hazardous Materials, Tanker Vehicles, Doubles/Triples, School Bus, and Firefighter. Depending on your license class and the endorsements you need, you may be required to take one or more of these tests. Special endorsements are required for certain vehicle types. The endorsements available with a Class A, B, or C CDL include HazMat (H), Tank Vehicles (N), Tank Vehicles Transporting Hazardous Materials (X), and Passenger Transport (P). The School Bus endorsement (S) is only available for Class A or B CDL, and the Doubles/Triples endorsement (T) is only available for Class A licenses.
